Google Drive

Connect your Google Drive account to store GitSec backups.

Prerequisites

  • A Google account with Google Drive access.
  • Sufficient storage space in your Google Drive.

Setup Steps

  1. Navigate to Storage in the sidebar.
  2. Click Add Storage Provider.
  3. Select the Google Drive card.
  4. You will be prompted to sign in with your Google account and authorize GitSec.
  5. Grant the required permissions for GitSec to read and write files.
  6. Once authorized, click Save to complete the setup.

How It Works

GitSec creates a dedicated folder in your Google Drive to store backup files. All backups are encrypted before upload.

Storage Limits

Be aware of your Google Drive storage quota. Backup sizes vary depending on repository size and selected scopes. Monitor your Drive usage to ensure sufficient space is available.

Security Recommendations

  • Use a dedicated Google account for GitSec backups rather than your personal account.
  • Regularly review the apps connected to your Google account under Google Account permissions.
