GitSec Storage

GitSec Storage is the built-in, managed storage option. Your backups are encrypted and stored on GitSec's infrastructure with no additional configuration required.

Regions​

GitSec Storage is available in two regions:

Your backups are stored in the region associated with your account or workspace configuration.

When to Use GitSec Storage​

GitSec Storage is the simplest option — no external accounts or credentials are needed. It's ideal if:

  • You want to get started quickly without configuring external services.
  • You don't have specific regulatory requirements for data location.
  • You prefer a fully managed solution.

When to Use BYOS Instead​

Consider Bring Your Own Storage if:

  • You need backups stored in a specific cloud provider for compliance.
  • You want full control over the storage bucket and lifecycle policies.
  • Your organization requires data to reside in a particular geographic location.
