Viewing Backups

You can view backup snapshots at both the global and repository level.

Global Backups Page

Navigate to Backups in the sidebar to see all backup snapshots across all repositories. The table includes:

ColumnDescription
StatusSuccess or failed.
Repository NameThe repository that was backed up.
ScopesIcons showing which scopes are included (Code & Commits, Pull Requests, Issues).
Start TimeWhen the backup began.
Finish TimeWhen the backup completed.
Elapsed TimeTotal duration.
SizeSnapshot size.

The list is paginated for large numbers of backups. Use the page controls at the bottom to navigate.

Per-Repository Backups

To view backups for a specific repository:

  1. Go to Repositories > GitHub.
  2. Click on a repository.
  3. Open the Backups tab.

This shows the same table format but filtered to that single repository.

Restoring from a Backup

Each backup row includes a restore action button. Click it to start the Restore Wizard with that snapshot pre-selected as the source.

Backup Details

Each backup snapshot contains:

  • Snapshot ID — A unique identifier for the backup.
  • Scopes — The data included in the backup.
  • Trigger — How the backup was initiated (On Demand, Scheduled, or Push Event).
  • Timestamps — Start and finish times.
  • Size — Total storage consumed.
